Helmets? Whatever

Living in bali, riding around on motorbikes is one of the most convenient means of transportation.

Well, not for me.

Its more dangerous for on a motorbike.

Actually, its more dangerous for everyone else on the street if I were to ride a motorbike lol.

But hey, heres a simple concept:

WEAR A HELMET

Driving around every day, I see countless people riding around with no helmets.

On a motorbike.

With two children.

NO HELMETS

In bali, a cheap helmet costs about 5 bucks

A good one, maybe 20 bucks

Now the police here are all about the corruption and ripping off westerners at any given moment.

Helmet?

License?

Oh, international license?

Oh, um no reason, just give me money.

And yet when locals drive by these cops with five children on a bike, they don’t bat an eyelid.

Oh, shes wearing a hat, that’s good enough

Oh, shes carrying a fruit basket, yeah that’s close enough

Oh, a hoodie, great

You know what

You are an adult

If you want to fall and smash your head, go ahead

But protect the children

20 dollar helmet

Or thousands of dollars in hospital bills…

Or worse

Up to you

  1. I don’t write a leave a response, but after reading a great deal of comments on Helmets? Whatever | Angels of Mine. I actually do have 2 questions for you if you tend not to mind. Is it simply me or does it look like some of the responses come across like they are written by brain dead folks? 😛 And, if you are posting at other online social sites, I would like to keep up with you. Could you post a list of all of your public pages like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?
